Candidate Co-Signing Policy

Who Should Use the Candidate Registry Look up?
Individuals and companies who have a co-signed* appraisal report can search the Candidate Registry to ensure that the signing candidate is/was registered with the co-signing designated member at the date when the report was signed.
* Note: This is only a registry of candidates and their designated co-signers. Registration is not required for appraisal reports signed by a CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) and co-signed by an AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute).
Search Criteria
Searching the registry is by exact name (i.e. no wildcard searches). In the fields above, enter the last names of the designated member and candidate that appear on the report. The search results which appear on the next screen show all of the names that match those entered. The names listed in the gray column are designated members, while those in the blue column are (or at some point were) candidates who would have required a cosigner at that time of their candidacy.
Finding a Registration
From the search results page, select the appropriate names (one from each column) and click the "Show Records" button. The next page will indicate whether there was a registration for the selected candidate and designated member, as well as the time period of the registration.
What if There is No Matching Registration?
Appraisal reports co-signed by designated members for candidate members who have not been registered by the designated members will not be insured. If you do not find a registration between the candidate and designated member for the period in which the report was signed, you should contact your appraiser to ensure that they have complied with the Institute's policies and professional practice standards.
